Centralised Bio-medical Waste Treatment Facility in Kalyan

INTRODUCTION

M/s. Envision Enviro Engineers Pvt. Ltd. is setting up Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility (CBMWTDF) in the Kalyan. 

The CBMWTDF is presently collect and treat waste from entire City of Kalyan – Dombivali and Bhiwandi.

ENVISION ENVIRO ENGINEERS PVT. LTD., a pollution control and Environmental Engineering firm active in South Gujarat for more than 20 years feels proud to present an economical and efficient way of managing Bio-medical Waste (BMW) to Medical professionals and practitioners of South Gujarat. We propose an affordable scheme for treatment and disposal of all types of bio-medical waste generated by Dispensaries, Clinical Laboratories, Hospitals, Health Centers, R & D Centers and other generators of bio-medical waste.

ENVISION is a group of highly motivated and energetic personnel ready to take up any challenge, led by talented and experienced partners and assisted by technical advisors who have been pioneers in their areas of expertise. ENVISION is active in the field of environmental and pollution control engineering for more than 20 years with a vision of supporting and being a part of development that is sustainable to the environment. Total number of technical personnel is more than 30, which includes 10 engineers, 10 scientists, 2 microbiologists and adequate supporting staff.

BIO-MEDICAL WASTE MANAGEMENT RULES

As per the Gazette Notification dated 20th July, 1998 it is the duty of every occupier (a person having control over an institution or premises) of an institution generating bio-medical waste including a hospital, nursing home, clinic, dispensary, veterinary institution, animal house, pathological laboratory, blood bank to take all steps to ensure that such waste is handled without any adverse effect to human health and the environment.

Under these rules…

  • Bio-medical waste shall not be mixed with other wastes.
  • Bio-medical waste shall be segregated into container / bags at the point of generation as per their respective categories.
  • Bio-medical waste shall not be stored for more than 48 hrs.
  • Every occupier is required to set up requisite bio-medical waste treatment facilities like incinerator, autoclave, microwave system for the treatment of waste or ensure requisite treatment of waste at a common waste treatment facility.
  • Every occupier shall make an application to the prescribed authority for grant of Authorization.
  • Every occupier shall maintain records related to generation, collection, reception, storage, transportation, treatment and disposal of bio-medical waste.
